Windows 7 Data Migration

Now that you have a new computer with Windows 7 you want to transfer all of your files and settings from your old XP or Vista computer to the new one. No problem, with this service I can do just that.

Here's what I'll do...

Run diagnostics to ensure that the data you transfer is compatible with the new operating system.

Transfer the follwowing types of data:

- User Accounts

- Files and Folders

- E-mail messages, settings, and contacts

- Photos, music, and videos

- Windows settings

- Program data files and settings

- internet settings

Installation of programs from your old computer, if compatible.

What you need to know...

- if you have licenses for content protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM), such as music purchased from ITunes, you will need to re-obtain these licenses. You may have to contact the appropraite store via phone to do this.

- You will need to provide the software discs and license keys for software that needs to be installed on the new computer.

- Even if you have licensed software, it may not allow activation on the Windows 7 computer, since it was activated on the old computer.

- Some software may be incompatible with Windows 7, thus rendering those particular data files unusable.

- Moving between 32-bit and 64-bit architectures may result in many programs not being compatible.
